Greta Hanson, M.D. BC/BE

Dr. Hanson completed her training as an obstetrician gynecologist at the University of Vermont in 2008.  She became interested in women's health while working at Planned Parenthood Boston, and her interest further developed when she researched cardiovascular disease in women.  She enjoys both the variety of care she is able to provide to her patients, and the opportunity to develop life-long relationships with her patients.  She looks forward to knowing and caring for women throughout their lives: from early adulthood, in pregnancy, through menopause, and on into the wisest years.

Dr. Hanson has had an interest in other cultures since living in Italy during high school, and working for several months on a dairy farm in Norway after college.  More recently, she volunteered for a month at a small hospital in Kenya and spent a week working in an urban hospital in Bolivia.  Her experiences have made her acutely aware of disparities of health care around the world and she has a personal commitment to support international health organizations.

Aside from her childhood years in northern California, Dr. Hanson has lived in Vermont longer than any of the many places she has worked and studied.  She likes the proximity of hiking, skiing, or any outdoor adventure combined with the opportunity for good restaurants and music that Burlington offers.
